It ain’t Over ’til The Fat Lady Sings

It ain’t over ’til the fat lady sings, seems this quotation is apt to the drama that currently on going in St James’ Park, Newcastle. St James’ Park is a stadium in Newcastle, England, the home of Newcastle United Football Club. Yeah right,  Newcastle United Football Club (The Magpies), is my favorite soccer team from the English Premier League (EPL). Since when? i do not know when, but since that time that i forgot, i already became the loyal fan of the magpies. Funny maybe, since Newcastle is sooo far from my city, Bandung (& i never been there anyway .. lol). Well, at least, there is a universality in the sport anyway.

So, what is the drama that currently played in SJP? Since the EPL (and numerous European league, including Champion League) broadcasted in the local television, people got familiar with soccer from European, and every match amuse people, week by week. Back then, in the mid of 90s, the magpies already established as the contender of EPL, but, well , it’s the past. Now, the magpies should fight their way to avoid the relegation zone. And this is a thrilling drama to watch, the fourth from below and only two matches left, there is only one option: is it up or down!

Okay, they have Alan Shearer on the helm, as the interim manager; and already cast a magic spell by a victory against Middlesborough last Monday (Newcastle 3 vs Middlesborough 1), but, with only two matches left, he has to perform another magical trick for the toons, to set things right, otherwise, then nothing will. Because, in the current situation, two matches, fourth from below, simply, the magpies should win the last two games in order to survive, (okey there might be several permutation, but hey, simply, a win is a win).

So, tonight (in my country), the clash vs Fulham, three points & if on the same time, Bolton can defeat Hull, that would end up the misery, otherwise, the ordeal continues, and not just hard-work, i hope the lady luck would sing a glorious song for the magpies tonight!

All in all, the drama will only end, after the fat lady sings! Howay the Lads!!!
