I got up early today (April 22) to see the occultation of Venus by the Moon. The disappearance happened before the Moon had cleared a hill on the Northeast horizon at my house, but the reappearance past the dark limb of the Moon was very nice. I grabbed this image with a handheld Canon SD600 pocket digital camera.
Other observers used much better setups and got better resolution. A good picture is found at the Universe Today.
