The Project:

The Cosmic Diary is not just about astronomy. It's more about what it is like to be an astronomer.

The Cosmic Diary aims to put a human face on astronomy: professional scientists will blog in text and images about their lives, families, friends, hobbies and interests, as well as their work, their latest research findings and the challenges that face them. The bloggers represent a vibrant cross-section of female and male working astronomers from around the world, coming from five different continents. Outside the observatories, labs and offices they are musicians, mothers, photographers, athletes, amateur astronomers. At work, they are managers, observers, graduate students, grant proposers, instrument builders and data analysts.

Throughout this project, all the bloggers will be asked to explain one particular aspect of their work to the public. In a true exercise of science communication, these scientists will use easy-to-understand language to translate the nuts and bolts of their scientific research into a popular science article. This will be their challenge.

The Boy Who Help….

We have one participant yesterday who came from Jakarta to Bandung for this event. He came with his family. He is in the first grade of elementary school. During SUNday event, he was full of energy and very enthusiast about everything. Not just that.. he also make himself helping us in many ways.

sleepy…and no more coffee

After all the preparation, all events went well.. and I do had a good night sleep… no more coffee to stay awake to write and design the newsletter..or making sun glasses.

but I will compile all events in Indonesia in to my next posting. ow.. it’s time to go and meet my therapist. Oh not again.. but… I have problem with my back so routine therapist is the answer. wish me luck guys…

SUN day in CiWalk

seems like the post I posted from Ciwalk through my mobile phone never show up. So may be it was failed. So I will write it again. Today we all go to Cihampelas Walk Mall (CiWalk mall) to share about astronomy with people there.CiWalk mall is a mall with open area concept.

Look at the Moon! and the sun will die??

hehehe.. sorry for the title.. !

but… our first event was really fun. Children all around. and they are exciting with all the new stuff. I mean.. they get exciting when they have a chance to look through telescope. Ok.. let me start this story. I am late!… I am really late. No cab… and I should bring my 5inch telescope with me. So I contact all the team to begin A 100 Hours Night with Langitselatan without being concern about all the instruments!. I promised them I’ll be there on time.

7 cities from Indonesia joining 100HA.

Another city join us today. Here we have no club yet but hope they will have one soon. But a friend from astronomy preparing a star party with his students in IAIN (National Islamic Institution) in a  football field. He will have a sunday star party there. Public are welcome. So now we have 7 cities joining 100HA.

A glimpse of 100Hours in Indonesia

… now. we are in the 3rd day of 10hours of astronomy. Right now…live webcast still broadcast Around the world in 80 telescopes. Wish Indonesia also in that program.. oh yeahh may be I’m dreaming… hehehe..

yaii…. welcome to our friends in Bogor.. now we have more city to join 100HA. A high school astronomy clubs from BOGOR join us today. They will have events tomorrow. So now we have groups from 6 cities join 100HA.
